RESET: A Primal Adventure
Movement, Foraging, and Play
"Life begets life. Energy creates energy.
It is by spending oneself that one becomes rich."
-Sarah Bernhardt

The RESET is a 3-day escape from the modern world, a true primal adventure, returning to our human roots of nature, movement, stillness, simple food and connecting with a tribe. We will provide a unique adventure that will challenge, teach and refresh the body. The weekend will awaken the wild body within. You will be reminded of the value of the present moment and strengthen the body through movement, play and clean living. Our days will be filled with practicing the full range of movement, foraging for food and playing together as a group. We will collect fruits and plants throughout the day, while learning what to eat and how to eat it. Our movements will consist of many different systems, including: MovNat, Functional Range Conditioning, gymnastics, martial arts, and dance. Our bodies are not made to sit chairs, cars, desks and couches all day long, we are not meant to be stuck in an office all day. Get rid of your technology, get rid of your comforts and return to your natural state for a weekend. Go UNMODERN. Reset your body and mind, awaken your senses and learn how to thrive when you return to the modern world._

How will my body-mind change?
During the Weekend
Don't expect a totally new body or movement skill to just show up during the weekend. You can expect definitive improvements in your joints, range of motion, stability and balance. You will feel stronger through nueromuscular improvements. We will be practicing and playing quote a bit so all skills should improve, which will help when you return to your routine. You will be sore from doing new and fun movements. Your skin will get beat up a bit, especially on your hands, forearms and feet. You will most definitely feel an immediate and deep connection within your body and a stillness in your mind. Ideally you will have a few "a-ha" moments with regard to your movement abilities and/or disabilities, your movement practice in general and most of all I hope you leave the weekend energized with new ideas, energy and a spark of creativity.
After the Weekend
This is hopefully where the largest impact will occur. During your RESET, the body-mind will get a boost of information, practice and play. You will leave the weekend with many new tools to keep your body, strong, mobile and young. However, the single greatest tool that you can leave with is an altered mindset. A mindset that will urge you to continue to explore and challenge yourself in all dimensions of life. Not just your movement and body, but in all areas relationships, work, travel, etc... The RESET will illustrate the negative effects of routine and how the LACK of exploration of movement patterns will create an adapted, limited body, that will become prone to injury. This same lack of exploration can deaden areas of one's life. So it is my hope that you come away from the REST with a renewed energy to keep the adventure and playfulness at the forefront of your movement practice and your life, so that you can realize the FULL potential of all that your can bring to the world.
